Put It On Your Priority List

While I’ve been recovering from my recent operation, I was fortunate enough to have the time to read The Priority List: A Teacher’s Final Quest to Discover Life’s Greatest Lessons  . As someone who teaches (I train people who want to be image and color consultants and personal stylists), I enjoy reading about people who are passionate teachers, and David Menasche is one such man.

This book is his story of teaching but of also learning many important lessons of life and his struggle with brain cancer (from which my mother died from when I was 5 years old) and how he connected with his past students traveling across America to visit them after he could no longer teach in the classroom.

It’s an inspiring read, and one that may bring back memories of some great teachers you were lucky enough to have as a student, or if you do teach, inspire you to do so in an even more effective manner.  I highly recommend it as a read.  It’s a similar sort of inspirational autobiography as was Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.

The Priority List is to be made into a movie with Steve Carell playing David Menasche.
