Puppypalooza At Progressive Field Brings Hot Dogs To The Ballpark

By Petslady @petslady

Who let the dogs in? Progressive Field, that's who! Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians held the first of two Puppypalooza nights on May 16th, 2012. The popular event allows ticket-holding pet owners to bring their dogs to watch a Tribe game, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Cleveland Animal Protective League.
An estimated 500 fans and their canine companions helped make Progressive Field the place to be Wednesday evening. The fur-stivities got off to a roaring (or at least, barking) good start with a promenade around the outfield warning track.
Presumably pet-owners picked up after their honorary outfielders before the Indians and Seattle Mariners began their scheduled match. Considering the fact that Puppypalooza is presented by PUP! (the “Pick Up Poop” campaign of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District), leaving any “gifts” for the players would be awkward to say the least.
If you missed this Puppypalooza, there'll be another one on Wednesday, August 29th when the Oakland Athletics visit Progressive Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and umpires for the game can expect more than the usual level of howling and growling from the stadium stands.
Looking to enjoy a hotdog with your hot dog? The Cleveland Indians advise interested pet-owners that registration for Puppypalooza opens at Progressive Field at 5:30pm on game day. Dog Packages allowing entry and seating to 1 person & 1 dog are priced at $30 each with additional Human Tickets costing $15 each. As always, seats are limited and subject to availability. Last but not least, the Indians are advising that Dog Packages for the next Puppypalooza are expected to sell out quickly! (via WTAM Cleveland, WKSU News, and the Cleveland Indians)
