Puppies And Dogs

It is no secret to those who truly know me that I love puppies and dogs.

I had canines all throughout my childhood, having my very first pet at the age of seven.

Family members within our home had owned dog’s years before but this was my very own and first experience with a puppy in the home.

The longest dog that was with me lived for seventeen years. She would have lived even longer if I had not put her to sleep due to arthritis in her legs preventing her from walking.

Canines are such a joy to have as I have said many times before, and they are so darn smart.

I remember when I made steady eye contact with my dog and winked at her with my right eye.

I kept winking at her intending for her to return my gesture. After a few times of blinking my eye at her she did catch on and wink back.

Then, I winked at my dog with my left eye, and she indeed winked back at me with her opposite eye.

I am telling the truth.

I had had this German Shepherd/Collie mix since she was seven to eight weeks old and had known from the start how intelligent she was.

I had already known from experience the potential puppies and dogs had from spending time with the dog I had before her. She was my second. I adopted her when I was ten years old.

The canine that I had when I was seven was a full breed male German Shepherd and he was bright as I didn’t know what! I had him jumping through my hula hoop. I was so excited I ran inside the house to get my mother to show her what my puppy had learned.

When the second dog winked back at me with both her eyes, following my cue, I again told my mother about it.

My mother tested her too by giving her a wink, and she cutely winked right back at my mom.

I was really blown away when my mother and I walked into this pet shop around the corner from where we live, and I knocked on the glass cage to get a puppy’s attention.

This was a white German Shepherd and I waved to her.

Do you know that this canine waved right on back to me? I kid you not and my mother was standing there as a witness to the occurrence.

I waved twice to the puppy and twice she took her paw and rubbed it against the glass mocking my gesture.

These dogs that God created are totally awesome and I love them so much.
