Public Sees Trump As A Racist And They Don't Like It

Poll after poll has shown that a majority of the American people think Trump is a racist (and has encouraged other racists to be more open about their vile views). This poll just verifies that in a slightly different way.
I think most of you will agree that a person who uses the "N-word" to refer to Black people is a racist. I don't see how anyone in this age could use that word and not be a racist.
And a majority of Americans (55%) believe Donald Trump has used that word while serving as president (see chart above). Only 19% don't think he has done that. And that is the verdict of all the demographic groups.
That is bad. But it gets even worse for Trump's wanting to run for re-election. About 52% say they could not vote for a presidential candidate they believes uses the "N-word", while only 22% say they would (see chart below). If Trump wants to be re-elected, he needs to grow up and discard his racist beliefs (but of course, he won't because that would upset his most rabid supporters).
These charts reflect the results of the latest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between August 19th and 21st of a national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,247 registered voters). The margin of error for adults is 3 points, and for registered voters is 2.9 points.
