Public Believes 2018 Will Not Be A Good Year For Peace

If you're like me, you go into a new year hoping that the world will be a more peaceful place than before (and 2017 was a very bloody year worldwide, with wars killing many people and creating a record amount of refugees).
But most Americans don't believe that will be the case for 2018. They think that 2018 will see less peace worldwide than we saw in 2017 (by a whopping 55 point margin). And that is true of both genders, all age groups, all races, and all political preferences.
The chart uses numbers in a recent Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between December 13th and 18th of a random national sample of 1,230 voters, with a margin of error of 3.3 points.
