Pakistan have had became no-go for the international teams since the militant attacks on Sri Lankan team bus in March 2009 in Lahore in which eight people were killed and the assistant coach of visiting team was injured. Since then they are forced to stage their “home” series on the neutral venues, such as United Arab Emirates (UAE) and England.
With the successful organization of PSL, Pakistan are keen to revive the international cricket in the country.
But raising the concerns over security situation in Pakistan, the Federation of International Cricketers‘ Associations (FICA) has warned the players against partaking in the lucrative league.
PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf said FICA’s concerns are understood but the board will take the every possible step to provide highest-level security to the players adding, if the players think this isn’t enough they can take the insurance option as well.
