Provence Today

By Coreyamaro

The colors of provence today are the same as they have been for centuries.

The angel at the end of the brocante is still guarding over us.

The leaves on the Plane trees are turning gold and falling.

Meeting friends.

This is Wanda, she has been reading Tongue in Cheek forever, and has commented so often that I know I know her.

At the end of the brocante we usually head towards Chez Serge for lunch. Our friend Teresa told us to act hungry before she took the photo.

Dave is pretending to eat a sandwich,

I am pretending to eat my hand,

Yann...

Well they we are acting like goof balls.

Amazing doorways to greet and send us on our way.

Looking into my wine glass.

Seeing things a different way.

Bits and pieces at the brocante.

Care for a picnic?

The taste of perfection.

Or as Yann likes to say, "The taste of not enough."

Teasingly of course.

Today in Europe was

The Journees du Patrimoine

Which means that certain sites and places usually closed to the public are open to visit and explore.

We went to the oldest synagogue in France, which is in Carpentras.

The chair represents the waiting for the Messiah

The Synagogue of Carpentras has been built in 1367. Today, only the underground parts (mikveh, bakery, butcher's) remain, as the synagogue was rebuilt in the 18th century.

Roasted tomato soup with pesto and grilled goat cheese croutons--

The ultimate taste of yum.

Today in Provence a morning fog gave way to a beautiful blue day.

The amazingly ornate interior of Notre Dame de la Garde in Marseille.

A large candle was lite in the crypt for all those I have promised to pray for.

A brocante find for my online shop, plus more ..

it was a good day for finding small treasures.

Want to take a peek look here...

I'll be adding things all week.

Provence today

I raised my glass to

the olive tree, the stone archway, family, friends and the happiness of it all.
