You know those mornings where you just have no energy and by the end of the day you feel completely drained. I’ve been having a few of those, it might be because I’m still recovering from a stomach bug, that Carl lovingly gave to me on his birthday…what a keeper, or just the changing season.
That’s how this smoothie got made. This is a great alternative to coffee and unhealthy choices. Filled with energy giving protein, vitamin c and antioxidants, this smoothie gives you that wake up call you desperately need without having a crash later on.
PROTEIN POWER SMOOTHIE – serves 2
Ingredients
- 1 frozen banana, peeled and chopped before freezing
- 1/2 a large avocado
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 kiwi, peeled
- 1 mango, peeled and chopped
- 1 small apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup swiss chard
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seed oil – optional
- 1 cup water
Directions
Blend everything in a blender until smooth. Pour and enjoy.
