Protein Power!

By Marensmorsels @marentweets

Do you love eggs?

I really really do!

Breakfast

I’d rather have eggs for breakfast than oatmeal.

Or cereal.

Or pancakes.

I made this super duper protein packed plate o’ food.

Fry 2 eggs in evoo and top with salt, pepper, and dill.

Toast 1 slice of sprouted grain bread, cut in half and top with a slice (or two) of deli turkey breast.

Top with the fried egg.

turkey- protein power

egg- super protein power

sprouted grain bread- protein power in disguise.

This is my healthy breakfast of choice. Seriously.

Healthy Guideline Checks

  • 1 serving healthy fat (evoo)
  • 1 serving fruit (gala apple)
  • swapped bad carbs for good ones (sprouted grain bread)
  • 1 serving probiotic
  • hot magic lemon water (while cooking)
  • 1 serving green tea

The Size I am.

I’ve been thinking a lot about sizes lately. Especially since I rebuilt my wardrobe last weekend. When I shop in the Juniors section I’m always a large, or even extra large when it comes to tops or dresses. I’m a 13 in jeans. When I shop in the women’s section I’m almost always a medium and a size 10-12 depending on the brand of jeans.

Picking a large off the rack always hits a cord in me because it feels like it’s saying I’m a large person… Or an extra large person. To me, that feels like I’m admitting I’m fat and unhealthy.

But here’s the truth. Every body is built differently. What if the small, medium, large size system isn’t talking about your level of fat. If we were to look at a line up of women ranging by height shortest to tallest, I’d definitely be at the tall end, 5 foot 10. Someone who’s 5 foot 0 inches tall is supposed to be a small. Because they are. A person who’s 5 foot 10 is supposed to be a large. Not because they’re fat or anything, simply because they are a bigger person compared to the rest of the line up.

The fact is no one knows what size your wearing. Only you do, and maybe the friend you when shopping with. Normally people think I’m a lot smaller than I actually am and say seriously, you’re 165 pounds?! Or you have to be joking you wear a size 12.

We need to accept our bodies for what they are. Yes some of it can change. Every body has a healthy weight range and depending on the person being at their fittest is at the lower end, and for other’s it’s just being inside it. But the size t-shirt you wear or the number on your waistband shouldn’t dictate how you feel about yourself. Or how you see yourself compared to others. Because that’s all it is… a number or a letter.

Tell me about you!!! I want to know…

How do you deal with sizes when it comes to shopping?

What is your favorite dish to order at a chinese food restaurant?

What did you do on your last birthday? Mine’s tomorrow and I need ideas!!!
