Back when I bought my very first dog many years ago pet insurance was relatively unheard of, and certainly not something I bothered buying. Had I known that 3 years down the line that extremely expensive emergency surgery would be required then maybe I'd have thought twice about obtaining some quotes. Our dog ended up needing an emergency hysterectomy which at the time ended up costing us over £1,000!
Paying each month for something you're not using may seem silly but it's without a doubt, reassuring if you actually need it. A poorly pet is bad enough without having to worry about how you're going to afford treatment.
I think any responsible pet owner will tell you that pet insurance is a must have. You'd be barking not to have it!
