Promising Start

It's a brand new year! What will 2015 be like? A better year, I hope :-) And a few projects to accomplish for the garden and for myself... I am all set to face another hopeful year and perhaps a busier one.

My garden receives a lot more sunshine this week as compared with the previous weeks. My heart is still with those in grief due to severe flood though. It is heartbreaking to see many areas being destroyed by the strong currents.

These plump red berries of Rivina humilis also known as Pigeon Berry made me smile. They look delightful!  Here is my sec on Maranta plant. When I bought it the plant was already quite lanky. Since it grows quite slowly, I didn't prune it. The plant is now loving the cooler weather and I hope it will continue to be so even when the sun is back. There are pros and cons to the recent wet weather. Some plants are loving it, some do not. Yellow leaves are frequently found in some of the plants that did not cope well. The plants flower lesser and sometimes I am not sure if I should water the plants. A downpour can just happen suddenly.

Anyway, have a great New Year 2015!
