DelhiMetro is the lifeline of Delhi. Since the time it broke the ice, the commuters across the city and adjoining suburbs prefer to use it over other modes of convenience to travel distances. Though, the metro network covers the best of Delhi NCR, let’s know about some stations that hold high prominence.Rajiv Chowk: The Metro Station is on Blue and Yellow lines. Commuters change the train at this station depending on whether they want to board on the train on Blue or Yellow line. It won’t be wrong to call Rajiv Chowk as one of the busiest stations of Delhi, owing to its proximity to Connaught Place, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House and so on. The entire CP area is flooded with quality hotels and restaurants, which increments the importance of this metro station.
AIIMS: The station is on the yellow line and is close to AIIMS hospital, i.e., All India Institute of Medical
Sciences. Boarding Delhi Metro to and from here is more convenient for patients and their acquaintances as compared to other sources. To the west of this station lies Safdarjung Hospital, which is another reputed healthcare destination. Other renowned locations around this station include Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dilli Haat, INA Market and more.Noida Sector 18: The station is on the Blue Line of Delhi Metro and has some highly popular locations in its vicinity. The Great India Mall, widely known as GIP is at a walking distance from the station, and so is the Centre Stage Mall. Atta Market is yet another of the most visited destinations near this Delhi NCR Metro station for its luxurious hotels, restaurants and entertainment hubs. The greatest attraction around Noida Sector 18 is however is still to break the ice in the disguise of DLF Mall of India. It is under construction and is slated to be operational for general public by Dec 2013. Covering a sprawling area of 1,800,000-square-foot (167,200 m2), it is all set to be the largest mall of India.
