Promarkers Tutorial ~ Cuddly Bear with Browns

I've been meaning to do a tutorial for a while & this evening I thought I'd do a little colouring & share.Today I am going to show you (after a lot of practice & experimenting!) how to color a bear brown & him to look fairly soft & cuddly =0)
I am using:Baby Waffles the Bear digi stamp from Odds & SoxletsCrafters Companion Neenah CardLetraset PromarkersI printed the digi image using a canon printer

The colours I am using to color Waffles are:ChestnutTerracottaApricotClear blender(I have also used Blush, Leaf Green, Meadow Green, Denim Blue & Pastel Blue)
To begin with I like to use the darkest color which is the Chestnut.I have decided my light source is coming from the front so the middle of the bear is going to be catching the light.Starting with his ears I have laid down chestnut in the areas I want the darkest.
Next I have gone over the chestnut with the terracotta going further into the middleI use light circular movements repeating round with the terracotta until it has blended with the chestnut
For the center of his ears I have used apricot & again used circular light movements to blend it into the terracotta & up into the chestnut
Finally for his ears to get the cuddly look I have used very light circular movements over the whole ear with the blender pen.
Using the techniques above for the ears I have started his head with chestnut
Next I've gone over with terracotta. Can you see on this picture I've only gone over once so you can still see a vivid line of chestnut.
I carry on laying down terracotta along the edge of the chestnut until it has blended to my satisfaction, slowly bringing the terracotta to the middle of the face.The middle of his face only has a very light layer of terracotta
so now when you go over with the blender pen you get a more cuddly look with the highlights on his face
Again following the same principle for the face with chestnut, terracotta & the blender pen I have done the rest of the body.Chestnut...

For his mouth area I have used a little terracotta & apricot followed by the blender pen.
His nose is chestnut, his hands are just apricot with blender & his belly is blush with blender.

Here's my finished Waffles bear. I will do further tutorials for green & blue
