Back in 1991, Cliff Roberson started a wine merchants on Kensington High Street in London and since then they’ve worked hard to make Roberson the best place to buy wine in the UK, both online and in store.
They offer a range encompassing everything from the very finest, rarest wines, to the best everyday bottles out there. Their website lists the entire range and ships all over the world, whilst their wholesale department supply some of the country’s best restaurants and their fine wine department specialise in trading the world’s fines wines globally.
Their website states that they put quality and value first, and strive to offer the best wine in the best way they can. They list hundreds of quality wines from outstanding producers all over the world, covering the whole spectrum of prices, styles and regions.
They were kind enough to send over a bottle of wine for us to sample – La Petite Perriére 2012 from maker Pierre Archambault, in the Loire in France. Now I don’t claim to know huge amounts about wine, but I do like to drink it, and I like to think I ca tell the difference between and £4 supermarket chardonnay and something a little better. This wine is stated to be a great one foe those looking for the taste and quality of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé but at a slightly less extravagant price tag. On their website – this bottle comes in at £9.95. I really enjoyed this wine – and found it very easy to drink, quite dry but very balanced and I would certainly hunt it out again.
Take a look at their website for more information on this wine, or to have a browse of their others
