The Touch Panel. The 3.5” touchscreen is so easy to use. Right from the main menu, I just touch “Copy,” “Scan,” “Print Photos,” “Fax” or whatever function I want to perform. It is so easy to use that even those who are technically challenged can handle it.
It Scans. My husband is an accountant and very computer-savvy, and he likes to keep electronic records of all of our important documents. We just lay what we want to scan on the flatbed or place it in the feeder, and it quickly and easily scans our paperwork, photos, etc., into the computer.
It Prints Photos. My 9-year-old son built a Lego creation and wanted to send it into the Lego magazine in hopes that they would print it, but they only accept actual photos (no digital files). I downloaded the photo to my computer, put photo paper into the XP-850, and printed out the picture. It came out beautifully, in full color, and ready to be sent! And the photos are of such high quality that they last up to 200 years in album storage. (I haven’t tried out that feature, of course, but it’s good to know!) The XP-850 has a dedicated photo tray, so you don’t have to remove your regular paper to print photos.
It Prints on CDs. My husband made a CD of files to send to a client, and he labeled it using the XP-850, which prints right onto the disk!
It Faxes. We always groan every time someone requests a fax from us because we have to dig out our ancient fax machine from the closet and hook it up to the phone line. It is so decrepit that it only allows one page to be faxed at a time. Now we have a brand-new fax machine contained in our XP-850. It’s awesome!
It Connects to a Wireless or Wired Network. My husband and I both work from home on separate computers, so we love that both of us can print to the XP-850.
There are so many other cool features of the XP-850 that I have yet to explore, such as:
The XP-850 allows you to print and scan remotely from your iPad, iPhone, tablet or smartphone! Did you just take a cool picture with your smartphone? Send it over to the XP-850 and print it out!
The Auto Photo Correction feature automatically corrects the lighting in poorly exposed images and gives you the option to remove red eye -- a big plus with all the blue eyes in my family! Plus it restores color to old, faded photographs.
A rear paper feed allows you to print on specialty media, such as card stock and envelopes.
I absolutely love our new Epson Expression Photo XP-850 Small-in-One. It does everything we need, from printing documents and photos, to scanning, copying and faxing. The photo features are awesome for recording and chronicling our family’s busy lives, and the printing/scanning/copying features are a must-have for my husband’s and my home office needs.
