Procrastination – I Think It Should Become a ROI

By Bewilderedbug @bewilderedbug

It’s pretty sad – I’m sitting here at 2:30pm on the day I got back into the country….watching “Millionaire Matchmaker” and playing online games.

I had such a great itinerary planned for today – 1) make a list of things to do 2) pick up fondant, cellophane and new rubber spatula (don’t ask…has to do with baking) 3) unpack suitcase 4) pass by my Uncle to say hello 5) possible grocery? 6) meet friend for coffee.

What have I done? Nada. N.A.D.A.

Instead, I’ve been on the computer, playing online games. (Bleeeaaahhh – I still have 2 full suitcases to empty….)

I’ve read a million and one blogs about being pro-active and how to organize your life in a more efficient manner. After all my reading, it came down to one common sentiment. Make the tasks that you can turn into some sort of ROI (Return on Investment for those who are abbreviation challenged) task and make these tasks your first priority.

My question is, what if you’re just lazy a procrastinator, like me?

Well, wouldn’t the world be perfect if we can make these nonsensical “money and time sucks” that we are obsessed with (and no, blogging and twitter are not included…no seriously, they’re not – they don’t suck money!!!!!) into ROI “tasks”? I guess it’s like entering all of these contests and giveaways on blogs – you have to gain something for the time wasted spent (and in the case of those of you who go as far as spending money on online games, the money spent), right?!

So in other words, stop spending your time on games, contests etc. that offer you no return at all. Yep – that’s my answer for procrastination. In the end, you are not going to suddenly change your ways and become a non-procrastinator – so why not embrace it and earn from it?!

I know – I say it but I don’t do it. I am addicted to online games, as I mentioned above – but I go through weeks when I’m in game-crazy mode and then I delete and block all of them! In fact I’m leaning towards the latter at the moment – but I had a friend beg me not to just so that SHE has a “neighbour” on one of the games…

Such a quandry. *SIIIIIGH*

BUT – In the end, I’m asking you to please do as I say and not as I do – if you’re going to keep playing games and entering contests etc., make sure that there is a return on investment for you.

(Please do let me know when you find these games so that I can take advantage of my own advice?)
