Seems that while I was soaking up some much needed sun in Florida, the DMV area was in the midst of some really desperate crime wave. I saw so many headlines with the word “robbery” in it that I just stopped reading to resume post vacation.
Here’s some news and I’ll try not to use the word “robbery.” Here goes: Sears closing 120 stores but none of ours, brother taken into custody for District Heights death, PG Community College offering free tax preparation, Developer Carl S. Williams, who allegedly stands to gain millions from the state Department of Housing and Community Development owes the state of Maryland more than $124k in back taxes.
Sears in closing up to 120 stores but not one in Prince George’s County. The closest Sears closing is in Ellicot City.
- Good to know
- Volunteers Needed
District Heights man found dead in his home; brother taken into custody. Police suspect this is a domestic case.
Carl S. Williams of the Carl Williams Development Group owed Maryland more than $124k as a result of nonpayment of withholding taxes for the Kings Kids Child Development Corp. According to the article, “Williams is a principal of Grand Central Development, and he hopes to lead a team that will build the New Carrollton mixed-use development. The project, known as Metroview, would house the first state agency with headquarters in Prince George’s.”
