  • A Chinese Weibo user named Kang shared pricing and availability information related to Apple's entire iPhone 12 lineup.
  • All four models this year will have OLED displays and 5G connectivity.
  • They also include a feature to intelligently switch between LTE and 5G to help extend battery life.

Less than a week before Apple's next event, extensive details about the company's entire iPhone 12 line-up have emerged thanks to a Chinese Weibo user named Kang. This information was later shared by frequent Samsung leakers Ice Universe (about MacRumors). Keep in mind that we are working on a machine translation here, so some details may have been lost in the mix. Kang also mentions that their information may not be accurate.

According to Kang, all four phones will feature OLED displays, with what appears to be a new layer of ceramic-reinforced glass for added protection. As expected, the full range of products will include 5G connectivity. However, only US variants of the new iPhone contain mmWave connectivity. We'll have to see how this affects pricing in the US, but it could make the new iPhone like the Pixel 5 more expensive in the US. According to Kang, the phone will also have a Smart Data mode, which will intelligently switch the phones from a 5G to a 4G connection to save battery life.

As for the specific phones themselves, the end of the lineup is the new 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini. It will have a dual camera system with a 1: 1.6 lens attached to its primary sensor. According to Kang, Apple will offer the phone in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage configurations. Consumers also have the option of purchasing the iPhone 12 Mini in black, white, red, blue, or green. Pre-orders for the phone will open sometime around October 16. General availability begins October 23 or 24.

Next up is the 6.1-inch iPhone 12. It is slated to start at $ 799. According to Kang, Apple plans to offer the phone in the same memory and color options as the iPhone 12 Mini. It will also include the same camera system as the Mini with the same timeline for availability.

The iPhone 12 Pro is the same size as the iPhone 12. It will reportedly contain a triple camera system with a LiDAR sensor, a 52mm telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, and a wide-angle lens. Pro variants of the iPhone 12 will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage configurations. According to reports, Apple will be opening pre-orders for the $ 999 phone on November 6 or 7, before it officially goes on sale on November 12.

Everything we just said about the iPhone 12 Pro applies to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but it will start at $ 1099 and reportedly have a 47% larger sensor for taking photos, as well as some extra features for taking photos ultra-wide photos included.

According to AppleTrack, Kang has 97.8% accuracy when it comes to predicting what Apple is working on. Ice Universe also spoke to Kang's track record, noting that he was "very accurate" in the past. "I suggest you take it seriously," they added.

In any case, we will receive official pricing and availability information shortly, as the event for Apple's iPhone 12 is only a few days away. In the meantime, be sure to check out our iPhone 12 Hub for the latest information on Apple's new line of devices.
