Former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush flew into North Carolina Monday afternoon to pay their respects to their dear friend, the late Billy Graham.  The Bush’s also spent time with the TV Evangelist son,  Franklin Graham and wife Jane Graham at the Graham Family Homeplace.

The Bush’s won’t be able to attend the official funeral on Friday, due to a scheduling conflict, so the former first couple decided to visit with the family and pay their respects on Monday along with other mourners.

“God’s work within me began in earnest with Billy’s outreach. His care and his teachings were the real beginning of my faith walk—and the start of the end of my drinking,” George W. Bush

“If there’s such a thing as a humble shepherd of the Lord, Billy Graham is that person. I am unbelievably blessed to have met him.”

According to DeMoss, the Graham family spokesperson, President Bill Clinton will arrive in North Carolina on Tuesday to pay his respects.

ABC News is reporting that former President Barck Obama is not planning to attend memorial services for the late evangelist this week, but he did send his condolences after news broke that “America’s Pastor” had passed.

Billy Graham was a humble servant who prayed for so many – and who, with wisdom and grace, gave hope and guidance to generations of Americans.
