I forgot to mention yesterday that this week is Preservation Week, shame on me! The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) division of the American Library Association (ALA) sets aside one week per year to highlight the importance of preserving our collections.
Preservation is a topic that is very important to me, as curator of the Harvey Mercheum permanent collection. Long-time readers of the Mercheum Blog may recall that I took a continuing education course in caring for collections.
