TENS LISTWhat 10 things absolutely drive you insane?I’m in a venting kind of mood at the moment, which is why I chose this topic. There’s a lot that drives me completely insane, all of which compounds into the reason why I’d rather sit at home and write books than participate in any sort of societal scheme or high-class social function. You’d think I would have learned my lessons by now but seriously there’s at least a few times a week when I’m shaking my head and repeating WTF or What? Seriously? Also probably the reason most of the books I write have to do with the unintelligible who consistently prove the incapacity to see more than two inches in front of their face to the larger plan at play. I enjoy putting them through hell, trials and tribulations; it’s the best way to show them the light that’s been glaring at them and poking their heads saying, “Hey, I’m here.” So without a further ado, here we go.1. Hard headed People: People rarely can take into account the power of circumstance. They think that everyone has had the same experiences and can’t fathom why any one person would live the way they do. 2. Laziness: What? You have it that good that you don’t have to work? I guess God truly does love you. Life isn’t handed to us on a silver platter, there’s always work involved in obtaining success, any success for that matter. If being lazy is working for you all the power to you. But don’t expect the world to be delivered to you just by reaching out your hand. 3. Ignorance: Racism is the mark of a devolved thought process (that goes both ways). BTW, we are all ignorant (for lack of a better word) in some way, form or fashion. We can’t know everything about everyone. True ignorance is the refusal to learn and to be taught to accept others. I always quote Plato on this one (could be Socrates but my Philosophy friends always disagree): “The only thing I know is that I don’t know anything.” Meaning, anything is possible and until you actually Know something as fact, everything else is just a belief and opinion. Don’t kill people over an opinion please.4. Entitlement: the world doesn’t owe you a living, and in fact, put your damn hand down and see number 2 above. 5. Opinions without compromise. Listen we all have our opinions and beliefs but no one has ever been 100% correct, there’s always multiple factors and yes, circumstance involved. Learn to see situations through someone else’s eyes. 6. Labels. What people don’t understand are the labels they throw onto themselves. Psychology proves that once a label is assigned said person behaves just as the label describes. At our most basic, subatomic level all we are is stardust. Have enough courage to just be yourself without labels. Be kind but be wise. 7. The price of organic food. Why is it so expensive anyway? Aren’t farmers saving money on all those pesticides they’re using to soil the rest of the food in the kitchen? 8. GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms): Question, if we are what we eat and we’re eating GMO’s, doesn’t that mean we are genetically modified?9. Road rage. I find this one funny. Considering every person on this planet is in no way perfect including our ability to drive without making a mistake here and there, I always find it funny when someone’s yelling at the top of their lungs and just won’t give it up. Sorry, buddy, yes, I cut you off. Have you ever cut someone off? Maybe if you were paying attention to the road and not posting another Facebook post, you’d have seen my blinker (or directional as some people call it) for the past mile and when I made my move you act like the entire world just ended. Your Facebook post must not have had the impact you were expecting; I apologize it must be my fault. 10.A person’s lack of self-preservation: don’t you know that heroine is not good for you? I’ve worked in the addiction field for more than a decade and it still gets me. Yes, addiction is 100% highly difficult to overcome, yes I know this but it’s the lack of personal responsibility that gets me. Yes, you have to change, and yes you have to change a lot. But do you really believe one day you’re going to wave some magic wand and be done with all this? I’m sorry, I forgot, you’re entitled, there’s no reason to put in the work necessary to change especially when one day they’ll develop a pill that’ll completely kill off your need for heroine and turn you into a zombified slave. Well, at least that heroine problem will be solved.
What I find most humorous about this topic is that my friends all refer to me as the ‘Eternal Optimist,’ but some things truly just bring about that WTF response.

She was reluctant to climb those stairs. The thin stairway to the third floor, dark and gloomy, held inside it an ascent to a new life.
Kelli Anne had a feeling in her gut.
Your world’s about to change.
Her breath was heavy and constricted. She pursed her lips to force the air down into her lungs.
Whatever was beyond that door, she did not know.
Perhaps I want no part in it.
In her mind, she saw goblins and devils jumping up and down inside that room, in some devilish parade of victory. A sinister face, thin, long with a goatee and dark, black eyes, stood prominent in her mind.
She stood at the bottom of the stairs, unmoving.
Something in the air coming from the top of the stairs, simply frightening and unknown, dark and contemptuous, wanted nothing of her presence
Where is your husband, Mrs. Denemer?
She ascended, the air turning thick, like struggling through a vat of jelly. She pushed through it, climbing the staircase and pushing forward. Her jaw quivering, her hand on the doorknob.
It was locked.
Only, she’d removed the lock a few days ago, when concern over Gerri’s wellbeing had pushed her to take dire precautions.
She tried again.
Locked.
She coughed through the thick air, now like billowing smoke in her throat.
