Whichever party in Parliament that gets 113 seats, the Government or the Opposition, the ground reality is that it would be impossible to solve the burning issues faced by the country today, said UNP National List MP Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday.
He said that there is no point in presenting the No Confidence Motion (NCM) at this stage due to the existing situation.
He added that if it is presented, it should be done following the Finance Ministers’ statement in Parliament following his return from the IMF meeting and other organisations.
He said further that he agreed with the Opposition Leader’s demand for the road map of the future administration of the Government.
With regard to the Rambukkana incident, MP Wickremesinghe said that the name of the head of the Police group at the site of the incident should be included in the B-report submitted before the Magistrate. He added that they needed to know as to who gave instructions to shoot.
He further said that there is no fertilizer, LPG and fuel in the country. We have to discuss these issues in Parliament. Now there is a political issue as well as to what is happening within Parliament.
