DPRK state media reported on February 12 (Monday) that Premier and State Affairs Commission Vice Chairman Pak Pong Ju [Pak Pong-chun] visited the construction of the Wo’nsan-Kalma tourist zone. Pak toured the construction site and “gave a pep talk to soldier-builders working hard to finish the construction of a tourist zone in a scenic spot on the east coast in the shortest period.” Pak convened a consultative meeting “which measures were taken to make the relevant units provide a sufficient quantity of equipment and materials for the construction in good time and press ahead with the construction in the highest qualitative level.”
Prior to heading out to Wo’nsan, Pak Pong Ju conducted inspections of the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Pyongyang Trolley Bus Factory. At those locales he “discussed the matter airising in speeding up the updating of the production processes and increasing the production of parts of different parts of different kinds needed for various sectors of the national economy and new-type trolley buses.”
