Postcards from Ethiopia

By Elena @elenatravelgram
Today I’m having Urska from Endless Roads travel photography blog to share her amazing postcards from an absolutely magical place and meet the people who inhabit it!  When people ask me what is my favorite country or a destination is, I never know what to answer. Every single one of them is beautiful and different in its own way. But the country that changed me the most is definitely Ethiopia. I went on this trip determined to discover another world. To see people so different form us, that we can't even imagine. I was prepared for the cultural shock, yet when it hit me… I was really…shocked! That they looked different and that they had their own culture and rituals was expected. What deeply amazed me was how simple and happy life they lived

I was walking around with a small backpack and yet I was carrying around more belongings than the entire family owned there! But, they looked like they didn't miss anything. Having enough water and food to live a comfortable life is all that actually matters.

To make things even more interesting we took the longer track, away from all the tourist and visited a few villages so far away that, basically, no other traveler has ever visited.  I was so busy taking photos of these amazing people that I didn't really noticed the obvious. Only after a while did I realize that they were more surprised to see us than we were to see them!

That's when I tried to make some kind of connectin; I showed the photos I’ve taken of them and they loved it! Especially children kept posing for me and laughing. We were so different, yet we found a common ground. Urska is an art history student from Slovenia. Travel and photography are both passions that she inherited from her parents so she's been doing both since she can remember! Urska decided to blog mostly for fun, to share all her inspiring photos with the world! Don’t forget to like her Facebook page, follow her on Twitter and Instagram for even more fantastic pictures!
