Postcards From Andorra

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

I decided that today’s the day to fill out the Andorra album a little, and post more photos of that trip in July.

Part of my goal to visit small countries is not to tell people to go there (that’s their own business), but to show what’s there. I find that without pictures, people have only perceptions of a place based on world news, which we know is scant and cursory at best. Often what makes the headlines is dire or distressing. And since it is competing with the dire and distressing news from bigger countries, that means any other press these small countries get is from ordinary folk like me. I also find that the second source of perceptions of a country is from meeting a native of that country, and the likelihood of that happening is reduced the further away one is from that small country. Microstates barely show up on world maps, if at all.

When I told people that I’d been to Andorra, most people couldn’t give me a single impression of it, and couldn’t place it on a map. I hope this set of digital postcards gives a better idea of what Andorra looks like, and why I am motivated to return. You can find more pictures in the album, or just scroll to the bottom and watch the slideshow autoplay.
