In some places, people are heading back to work in a very limited way. We’re not that fortunate yet here in New York but plans are being fleshed out for how we will slowly resume to heading back to the workplace. Many companies will be splitting up employees to stagger in-office workdays so to increase social-distancing and to decrease human interaction, client interfacing will be limited to video, and other steps will be put into place to keep employees healthy and working. While many are looking to return to the normal we knew before this pandemic lockdown, it’s a harsh reality to face that even when the world starts opening again, it won’t look the way it did for a long time.
Post-Lockdown Work Style: Back to Work Style in This New Normal
With the workplace looking different, your style may change too. As one client who works in conservative finance told me, “it doesn’t matter what I wear.” Certainly, after months of all of us hanging out in our home-wear finest, we may be looking forward to putting a little extra effort forth, but perhaps you’re looking to find a little balance for our post-lockdown work style. I have put together a few casual outfits to give you some ideas that find that balance.
Outfit #1
This easy cotton dress from Cos is effortless yet crisp and an easy way to feel polished as you return to work. I styled the dress with printed wooden heeled sandals and tasseled statement earrings.
Outfit #2
For a more polished yet easy work look, I styled these tie-waist twill pants with a beige top from Treasure & Bond and a white blazer from Theory. I finished the look with tan block heeled sandals from Naturalizer.
Outfit #3
The mix of this dip-dye ombre summer sweater from Theory with these dot print jeans from Wit & Wisdom creates a fun casual look for work. I styled this look with a pair of silver metallic loafers from 1State and silver chevron earrings.
Outfit #4
I created this chic, easy look with a taupe cotton blend pop-collar top from Cos with black stretch flare cropped pants from Vince. I finished the look with comfortable tan slingbacks from Eileen Fisher and drop hoop earrings from Canvas Jewelry.
Outfit #5
Jumpsuits are easy to throw on and look done. This Everlane jumpsuit is easy to style multiple ways. You can wear it to work, you can wear it casually on weekends, and more. I styled it with a pair of cassia suede sandals, a printed scarf from Vince Camuto, and coin drop earrings.
As we slowly resume to something remotely looking like the way it used to be, stay safe and healthy, and wash those hands.
