Popsicle Snake

My goal for this year is to find more “things” for my kinders and 1st graders to make. Call it sculpture or craft, I think this age group especially enjoys going 3D as often as possible. And learning how to use white glue (without going overboard) is a valuable lesson too.
1. Use white glue to connect 3 popsicle sticks. Add one circle head and two eyes and let dry for 30 minutes or more.
2. Paint the sticks with acrylic paint and let dry. I started with green and then repainted it red for a more vibrant look, but any color would look great.

3. Kids love to draw patterns, it’s just very hard to do with a brush. If you can afford them, paint markers are a great investment as they make tiny detailed patterns possible for all ages and abilities. I used this Elmers brand, which are opaque and easy to use. Finish with a layer of Mod Podge for a glossy shine.
