There are some trends that while they are too chic for their own good on the runway, they can somehow translate to trashy in real life. Lace up thigh high boots definitely can fall into that category when worn the wrong way. Personally, while I do find them to be a fabulous and daring addition to an outfit, I would worry about the message they send. I would love to know what the readers think though!
