The Ulukkulama police said that a jeep belonging to the Vavuniya Police Station had fallen off a bridge day before yesterday evening (5) on the Ulukkulama Neriyakulama Road into a stream below. This accident had taken place when the jeep had gone to a temple in Ulukkulama and was returning to the police station.Police said that the driver of the jeep was not harmed but the jeep has been somewhat damaged. It has been discovered during the investigation that the accident had taken place when the driver of the jeep which was traveling on the road had applied the brakes to avoid a speeding cyclist and he had lost control of the jeep.
