POEM: Banana Plant

By Berniegourley @berniegourley

your purple plumb bob

bounces on a banana-laden stalk

your long leaves

twist & tear

like the Tacoma Narrows bridge

when wind whips over

every annum

foliage falls

stalk sags

yet you will rise and be reborn
