At the Mobile World Congress 2022, Xiaomi decided to launch two new POCO sub-brand telephones on the global market: the POCO M4 PRO and the POCO X4 PRO 5G. They belong to the mid-range segment and they are made official on the global market with incredible prices if you consider their specification. But there is one thing that many people want to know: it’s worth spending more for POCO X4 Pro 5G or it’s better to save money and go for the M4 Pro because it already offers everything you need? This is a comparison between their specifications that will give you the answer if you are looking for the best affordable phone to buy in the current period.

Design
None of these devices come with a premium design. Poco M4 Pro and Poco X4 Pro 5G are constructed with a polycarbonate body and they are not very thin, but they look good and they also come with a borderless perforation screen. In addition, they carry IP53 certification making them resistant to dust and splashing. Between these two phones, the POCO X4 Pro 5g seems more prevailing thanks to its original color variants, but the M4 Pro is certainly more compact and lighter, that’s why I prefer this device in terms of aesthetic.

To display
Both phones are equipped with amolated displays, but the panel found on the POCO X4 Pro 5G is upper. It is a panel amol with a Full HD + resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a refresh speed of 120 Hz and the HDR10 + certification, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The POCO M4 PRO has a refresh rate of lower 90 Hz, lacks HDR10 + certification and has a lower 6.43-inch panel; The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Fortunately, both phones come with stereo speakers, but despite amolated screens, they do not have a fingerprint scanner in the display: it is mounted by lateral.

Hardware / Software
The hardware service is the main advantage proposed by the POCO X4 PRO 5G. It has a better processor: the Snapdragon 695 5G. It’s not just better in terms of performance, but even in terms of energy consumption because it is built with a 6 nm production process instead of 12 nm. In addition, this phone has 5G connectivity, unlike its internal rival. Unfortunately, the two phones still follow Android 11, but they come with MIUI 13 out of the box and they will get the update to Android 12. The available memory configurations are identical, with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to at 256 GB. Native storage.

Camera
Both affordable phones are delivered with more or less the same camera departments except for the main camera sensor. The POCO X4 PRO 5G comes with a top 108 MP top camera: This is not a high-end sensor, but it’s much better than the 64 MP camera found on the POCO M4 Pro. In both cases, you get an ultra-macular camera of 8 mp, a 2 MP lens macro and a 16 mp front camera. Unfortunately, these phones are not able to record 4K videos and stop at 1080p.

Battery
The battery capacity of these two handsets is exactly the same: 5000 mAh. But the POCO X4 Pro 5G should provide a longer life of the battery because it has a processor built at 6 nm. In addition, it offers a faster loading speed because it supports a fast 67W charge, while the POCO M4 PRO stops at 33W.
