Indian Jagran News: Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicated with sarpanches across the country amid Corona virus infection. On the Panchayati Raj Diwas, Prime Minister Modi was addressing gram panchayats of the country through video conferencing from 11 am.

During this, Union Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also present with him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also initiated two schemes before speaking to the sarpanches.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the sarpanches of several states including Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, UP and applauded them for their efforts in fighting the Corona epidemic.

Prime Minister Modi said that, this corona crisis has shown that the people living in the villages of the country during this time have made their rites and philosophy of their traditions. Earlier in his address, he said that the corona virus has presented a challenge to everyone and has caused problems. This epidemic has changed the way we work and has also given a new message. Corona has changed the way we all work. Earlier we used to do a program face to face. But today the same program has to be done through video conferencing. Today, I welcome all those involved in this program.

The Prime Minister said that the Corona epidemic has caused many problems for us, which we never imagined. But more than that, this epidemic has given us a new education and message. I want to convey a message to all people through this program.

The biggest lesson that the Corona crisis has taught us is that we now have to become self-sufficient. It is difficult to deal with such crises without becoming self-sufficient.

Modi further said that, 5-6 years ago, there was a period when less than one hundred panchayats of the country were connected with broadband. Broadband has now reached more than 1.25 lakh panchayats. Not only this, the number of common service centers in villages is also crossing three lakhs.

As a result of the campaign launched by the government to make mobiles in India itself, today, smart phones with low prices have reached the village. The video conferences that are taking place on such a large scale today, all of this has become possible due to this.

The Prime Minister said that there was a time when less than 100 gram panchayats in the country were connected to broadband. Today, 1.25 lakh gram panchayats have broadband. Apart from this, Common Service Centers have been opened to help the rural people.

eGram Swaraj Portal and Swamitva Yojna

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi launched the e-gram Swaraj portal and mobile app before the dialog as well as the ownership schemes. Through the app launched today, the funds of the Gram Panchayats, its functioning will be fully known. Through this, transparency will also come and the work of projects will also be accelerated. The e-Gram Swaraj Portal is a unique initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj whereby Gram Panchayats will get a single place to prepare and implement the Gram Panchayat Development Plan.

At the same time, the villagers will get many benefits from the ownership plan. This will end confusion and quarrels over property.

This will help in the planning of development schemes in the village. With this, you will be able to take lawns from banks in villages like cities.

Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated every year

According to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, April 24 is celebrated every year as National Panchayati Raj Day. This day marks the passage of the 73rd Amendment Act, 1992 of the Indian Constitution, which came into force from 24 April 1993.

While celebrating this day as National Panchayati Raj Day started from the year 2010, the Prime Minister will address the Gram Panchayats at a time when the lockdown is in view of the Corona virus epidemic in the country.
