Only a day left for the Sony’s highly anticipated PlayStation 4 launch as the next-generation console goes on sale this Friday, on November 15th. A handful of expert gamers at online gaming websites has received a console from Sony, offering a chance to give their first impression on the device ahead of launch. So far, the console has received many positive reviews as well as a few negative reviews. Let’s take a look at what they say about the PS4.
“The controller has better sticks, better triggers, better weight, and an awesome jack,” the ongoing review on Kotaku has put a detailed explanation about the new controller on PS4. ”A circular groove around the tops of the controller’s thumbsticks enable more confident analog movement. The shoulder buttons have more punch. The triggers finally curve outward to cradle your finger as the Xbox 360 controller’s did.” Controller of a gaming console plays a major part when it comes to offering the best gaming experience. It seems like you won’t have to worry about ending up with a lousy controller when you buy a PS4.
Ars Technica wasn’t really impressed with the menu of the PS4. However they’ve loved the new interface and was impressed by the quick install time of the games. “Sony seems to care about getting players into the game as quickly as possible despite the installs. From the moment a disc first hits the system to the moment it starts to load, the whole install process lasts anywhere from 10 seconds to just under a minute, depending on the game.”

Games appears to outperform even the expert expectations on PS4 as Engadget claims,”There’s no missing the dazzling shadow and lighting effects, the intensity of detail and contrasting colors — games look significantly better on the PlayStation 4 than even last-gen latecomers like BioShock Infinite and The Last of Us.”
Nothing’s perfect. Even the PS4 seems to have some flaws as Polygon states that ‘The PS4 doesn’t support the new 802.11ac wireless standard, instead relying on an 802.11b/g/n radio at 2.4 GHz — no 5 GHz support here either, all of which is disappointing to see on a consumer device in 2013. ” Hopefully, these issues will get fixed soon.
Keep in mind, all these reviews were based on the PlayStation 4 that doesn’t have the day-one-patch, which will be available on launch to fix many issues and update the console.
Sony PlayStation 4 will be available starting November 15th for $399, without the PlayStation Camera which will set you back an extra $60.
