Now right about now you're wondering what on earth this has to do with celebrating classy craft, and I guess the answer is not a lot. It was however a wonderful opportunity to let the girls experiment, play, explore, and at the same time sneak in a few discussions about more weighty scientific issues such as the way that the color of their clothes seemed to change color depending on the color of the light that shone on it.
Light and color are integral parts of art, and whilst preschoolers might seem 'too young' to understand the science behind the wavelengths that make the hues that we see, I'm of the opinion that they are in fact never too young to start learning anything. If nothing else, you can always have an 'if not why not' conversation about what ever you're doing.
So my message for this weekend is simple; never underestimate your children, they're hungry to learn, so teach them... and if you don't know the answer to the question that they're asking; why not go find out for yourself as well as for them!
Best wishes, Linda.
