Two Peels, 16 Upper Grosvenor Street W1…

A distinctive example here with father and son on one plaque, Robert Peel the younger is famous for giving his name as a nickname for the Metropolitan Police – not only as Bobbies, but as the now more obscure Peelers – Peel was P.M from 1834 – 1835 and then again from 1841 – 1846. These dates give him the less-celebrated distinction of being the last PM of whom we have no photographic record. peel the elder was also in politics, as MP for Tamworth, a staunch supporter of Pitt the Younger.
