Plant a Seed // Smoothie a Day Check-in

Normally I would start a new “plant a seed” challenge today but I’m taking it easy today, a public holiday here and after years in the media, relishing the idea of actually having public holidays off!

So first I’m going to round up the week that was, the smoothie challenge.

I made it right through the week having a smoothie every morning. I need to do some groceries so I can get going again this week as I’ve run out of some key ingredients but it was a great learning experience.

I know:

  • I can throw together a combination of things to get a good result.  Don’t be afraid of this.
  • That I need to run the blender that little bit longer to make sure everything gets nicely chopped up.
  • That it really doesn’t take that longer and a little preparation goes a long way.
  • Try and have some green leafy things ~ baby spinach or kale ~ and some green apples to start and add from there. Half a grapefruit is also a good addition.
  • And straws make everything more fun.

I think my favorite combo of the week would have to be coconut water, half a green apple, half a grapefruit and some kale. I always throw in a teaspoon of chia seeds, too. Also sneaked some in the smalls’ berry smoothie this week!

And how do I feel. Infinitely better. And it’s great to know you’ve started the day with a dose of fruit and vegetables.
