Planetary Orbit

Orbit is the path that makes one body around another body, while under the influence of some force. And planetary orbit is the way that the body makes in his motion. Johannes Kepler first discovered his laws of planetary motion. He discovered that the orbits of the planets in our solar system are elliptical. The outermost planetary orbit is located at 40 astronomical units from the Sun, but the zone of influence of solar gravity is much broader.

Planets are relatively isolated in space, planetary orbits are nearly circular, planetary orbits all lie in (nearly) the same plane, direction of orbital motion is the same as direction of Sun’s rotation and direction of most planets’ rotation is also the same as the Sun’s.
