If you want to make the trip home as less traumatic as possible then there is something that you can do in order to make sure that you keep the stress levels nice and low. You can think about your journey back home from the airport and how you can ease yourself back into life gently.
If you have the luxury of a couple of days of annual leave at the end of your holiday then try and take these off and use them to settle into your usual routine. Get your holiday washing done slowly and take your time easing yourself back into the normal day to day tasks that you usually get done. If you put all of your vacation time traveling then slowly accomplish these tasks over the next week without the rush to be finished.
In the interests of easing yourself back into your normal life then you might want to think about how you are going to get to your house from the airport. Now the usual options are car, coach, train, taxi or bus especially if you live in a major city. The latter two can be ruled out if you live quite far away from the airport as they will mean that you will either have to pay a small fortune in taxi fares or you will be required to make lots of changes on the bus route. Likewise if you live a couple of hours from where you are flying into then a coach might not be a great idea either and will force you to take your car. (Photo "Bus Stop" by mzacha)
If you do decide to drive to and back from the airport then you will need to make sure that you book yourself some appropriate Airport Parking. It does not matter which airport you are flying from most will offer many levels of parking and in numerous price ranges even Heathrow Parking, Gatwick Parking and Liverpool Airport Parking.
Naturally, the best parking that is closest to the airport provides the most luxury and comes at the highest premium. The cheapest parking is always in the furthest lot and always seems to require a mini adventure just to find your car as you surely forgot where it was parked. Even knowing the general region of your car is difficult as you could spend several minutes walking down one row over and never even see your car, and is not the kind of frustration you'd like to endure at the end of an amazing adventure.
Whether your choice of getting home from an adventure is taking the bus like we do on personal travel, or parking in the lot as I do on business travel, be sure to pick a style that is appropriate to your comfort level as ending your vacation on a sour note is something no one would ever want to experience. Be sure to check out your airport's pricing structure as it may just surprise you and offer the greatest convenience for your time!
