Plenty of people watch the early shows of The X-Factor to watch ill-equipped contestants crash and burn, to watch hopefuls fall at the first hurdle. The crash-and-burn star of The X-Factor UK 2012, which kicked off on 18 August, is Zoe Alexander, a Welsh Pink tribute act who reacted really badly to getting a resounding four ‘nos’ from the four judges.
Alexander’s raging fury at not progressing through to the next stage stemmed from her frustration at being criticised by the judges for banging out a Pink song (her day job) when she insisted she had been actively encouraged by the programme-makers to, er, do a Pink number. To say Alexander felt a touch cheated is an massive understatement.
Watch the meltdown in its full glory below. Do watch until the end or you’ll miss her father – a Tom Jones tribute act – joining her on stage to confront the mean-spirited judges.
