Pink Friday

By Whattowearfor @whattowearfor

This week has been very long and very stressful. As I write this it’s Friday, I’ve just given my boss a big and very important report to read after having to work my arse off to get it done on time. I had to do another presentation to a room of experts yesterday and I woke up this morning with a cold. My week was topped off when someone drove into the back of me on my way home from work (don’t worry, nobody was hurt). TGIF! But thats it, moaning over, as I’m really looking forward to a day out in London Town with the boy tomorrow, and then fathers day celebrations with my family and the in-laws on Sunday. I determined not to let the horrors of the past few days ruin the fun ahead.

Here’s today’s outfit, anyway.

This is my take on smart casual. I always feel so good in this outfit – I think it’s because it has so much pink -pink shirt, pink shoes. I love pink, I’m such a pink girl. The beautiful candyfloss coloured pinstripe shirt from H&M fits beautifully and looks good tucked in or hanging out. I always buy a size bigger than normal if there are buttons on a top to avoid them coming undone or being pulled too tight (that just looks ugly). My River Island gold-zip dark denim skinny jeans make another outing. They are also featured here and here and here if you’d like to see some ideas of how else I have styled them.

I’m realising writing this blog that I have quite a minimalist style, and don’t really do accessories…may be this is something I should experiment with more? So all I wore with this simple outfit was the pearl necklace I wear everyday (it was a 21st birthday present from my boyfriend and is now my trademark) and the pink moccasins shoes I bought in a splurge in the River Island (what a surprise) sale recently. They are so comfy, and super cute.

Anyway, hope you’ve all had/are having a good weekend! I’ll blog about some of my antics soon.

Today I’ve chosen a proper party tune – it really got me in the mood for the weekend when I heard it this morning. And of added relevance, its from Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday’ album -quite apt considering.
