Sunday night Black excellence was on full display at the 49th annual NAACP Image Awards dinner.

The non televised awards dinner was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Cali. And some of our favorite celebs were in attendance.

Actress/Director Tichina Arnold, Director Salli Richardson, and actress Yvonne Orji at the awards dinner Sunday night.

Actress/singer Demetria McKinney was nominated for Best New Artist.  Demetria had a big year. She did an awesome job portraying  Whitney Houston in the Bobbi Kristina movie. And she released her debut album Officially Yours.

Sterling K. Brown and wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe.  Brown is up for Outstanding Actor is a Drama Series during Monday night’s televised show.

Greenleaf won on Sunday night, for Best Gospel/Christian album.

Queen Sugar star, Dondre Whitfield, and wife Salli Richardson Whitfield, who also directed an episode of the hit OWN show.

Jemele Hill  and her co-host Michael Smith were nominated in the Outstanding Host in a Reality/Reality Competition, Game Show or Variety (Series or Special) – Individual or Ensemble category.

Get Out director, Jordan Peele won an Image Award for Best Director in a Motion Picture.

The ladies of the Real Daytime won an award for Outstanding Talk Series.

Anthony Anderson returns to host the awards show live on Monday, January 15, 2018 — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday — on TV ONE at 9/8c. One-hour live Red Carpet pre-show just ahead of the two-hour special.
