Welcome to The Pick List. This is the place where i write about the list of my favorite movies according to a certain theme. This time the theme is “Detective Conan The Movie”. Listed below may not contain critically best movies, because i pick them according to my personal taste.
Actually i want to write about this two years ago soon after Detective Conan Movie 20 “The Darkest Nightmare” released, but i forgot and this article has been buried since then. Now, it’s time to release it. Well, Detective Conan is my favorite anime/manga of all time therefore i think i have to write about the list. So, here are my 3 favorite movies, check them out.
The Phantom of Baker Street (2002 / Directed by Kenji Kodama)
This is the most action-packed movie among all of the Detective Conan The Movie series. The story is about all Detective Boys’ members playing virtual reality game in the world of Sherlock Holmes and all of them are trapped inside the game until one of them can finish the game.
The story is thrilling because the appearance of Yusaku Kudo and Yukiko Kudo as Sherlock and Irene Adler respectively and sometimes it is sweet because the relationship between Edogawa Conan a.k.a Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri and other kids. The 6th movie of Detective Conan is an unexpected and heart-stopping story.
Magician of The Silver Sky (2004 / Directed Yasuichiro Yamamoto)
The story is about Conan Edogawa and Kogoro Mouri protect a jewel of an actress from being stolen by Kaito Kid who disguises himself as Shinichi Kudo. The story is suspenseful because the case is obviously coming one after another.
The 8th movie from Detective Conan has a lot of action scene and some sweet moments. The existence of Kaito Kid himself always make things more cool and this time, in the form of Shinichi Kudo, he makes the story sweeter. Just like any meeting moments between Ran and Shinichi, sweet, youthful, and sometimes awkward.
Captured In Her Eyes (2000 / Directed by Kenji Kodama)
At a wedding party, Ran witnesses an attack by a criminal with a gun. It makes Ran suffers from an amnesia because of shock. The criminal wants to kill Ran because he afraid that Ran will remember his face. Well, the case in this movie is quite simple and easy.
This is the fourth movie from Detective Conan. Different from the other two, this movie does not really have so much action scene. The movie is dominated by analysis and dialogue, but that make the movie more engaging and deep especially with Ran’s memory that give some sweetness.
