PGCo, Did You know…I’M BACK!!!!

I’ve been out due to surgery; more about that later but I’m back at this as a recuperate.

Adelphi man found killed, Delegates want to cancel alcohol deliveries, Maryland prisoners had access to public Social Security numbers, O’Malley and Religious leaders testify at hearing on same-sex marriage legislation, Grocery bag/disposable bag fee coming to Prince Georges

An unnamed man was found dead on Tuesday in the 18oo block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi.

Delegates Dereck Davis and Barbara Frush have proposed legislation to the General Assembly that would make it illegal to deliver alcohol.

  • Make up your minds

An audit report from the Maryland General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Audits found that Maryland Correctional Enterprises, a division of Dept. of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) failed to ensure that all Social Security numbers processed by inmates were un-redacted.  Inmates processed physician claims under the state’s Medicaid program on behalf of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.  Looks like a LOT of passing the buck here.

Gov. O’Malley made a rare hearing appearance to testify on his Civil Marriage Protection Act.  Various religious leaders followed with testimonies and requests for alternatives to the legislation that would not alter the state’s definition of marriage.

  • Marriage defined

County Councilwoman Mary Lehman (D-Laurel) and Maryland Delegate Barbara Frush are on board for legislation that would charge a 5 cent fee for consumer use of all disposable bags.

  • Oooow! We get to be just like all the other counties and DC.  YAY!!!!
