Former president of the Student’s Union of the Peradeniya University Anuradha Vidanage who was arrested by the CID in Kandy was remanded till January 4 after being produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s court yesterday.
Twelve students of the university who were produced before an identification paraded on December 22 were also ordered to be remanded till January 4. These students were arrested for allegedly assaulting the former Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Athula Senaratne and his family members and damaging the his official residence at the university premises.
