Pentecostal Preacher’s Daughter Suing Georgia Blue For Not Allowing Her To Wear Skirts

Kaetoya Watkins alleges that Georgia Blue restaurant in Mississippi fired her for not willing to wear pants.

As a result, Kaetoya Watkins is suing the restaurant chain for discriminating against her religious beliefs.

Watkins is a devout Apostolic Pentecostal Christian

In a lawsuit filed last Monday, the EEOC said Georgia Blue failed to “reasonably accommodate” the religious beliefs of Watkins.

The lawsuit claims Watkins told her manager that her religious beliefs prohibited her from wearing pants before beginning employment.  But Watkins states when she  showed up for her first day wearing a blue jean skirt, her manager fired her.

J. William Manuel, a lawyer for Georgia Blue LLC, said Wednesday in a statement that the company “does not discriminate on any basis.” Manuel says the four-restaurant company will defend itself against a lawsuit filed Monday by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
