Peat and Fire, is here to fill the void of any Maharashtrian restaurant in JP Nagar. The name is imbibed from one of the traditional dish’s of the region – Pita. The décor is clean, modern with wooden benches and tables. The walls are adored with beautiful posters. The menu here comprises of some of the most authentic dishes from Maharashtra.
We kicked off with their Kanda Poha. This poha is a bit different than other part of India as it is filled with onions. The Poha is very delicious with loads of peanuts, sev and farsan. Next, we had the Misal Pav. The Misal is topped with spicy rassa. The dish is served with buttery Pav, raw onions and lemon. The Aamras with Puri was next which was an unusual combination. The combo was out of the world as the Aamras had a hint of cardamom in it.
For our main course we tried the Sabudana Thali. The thali is filled with Sabudana Vada, Sabudana Khichadi and Shrikhand. Each of the items on this dish was amazing especially the Khichadi and the Shrikhand. We finally tried the traditional Pita. This dish is indeed very simple. Wheat roti is served with a dal made with a lot of garlic. The taste was excellent and this is a must have if you visiting Peat & Fire! Lastly, we had their authentic Purunpoli. This is pure bliss with ghee on top! Will take you straight to heaven and no word can probably describe this.
Overall, Peat & Fire is one stop for all Maharashtrian craving. Don’t miss on the Pita, Sabudana Khichadi and the Puranpoli as you won’t get this anywhere else.
