The societal and human wreckage caused by sprawl is a common topic of discussion these days, but it seems the growth of sprawl peaked decades ago.

Most of the easily accessible land, the most productive land in the valleys, is developed.  But even if continuing build out falls to 500,000 acres per year, it is still too much.
