According to Gizmodo.co.uk, Paypal wants “Paypal.Me to Become a Catchphrase”
Paypal has launched a site on Paypal.me to allows users to set up a vanity address on Paypal.me so instead of giving someone an email address to send you money you can tell them to send money to paypal.me/blogs (which is what I just set up before publishing this post).
If you already have a Paypal account it’s all ready to go today.
Clicking on the Paypal.me takes you to a signup page where you choose your username and have it auto-associated with your existing Paypal account.
Someone then visiting the domain paypal.me/yourname is then presented with a simple web page that lets them type the amount, change currencies and send it off. ”
Although Paypal has owned the domain name Paypal.me since 2008 it just updated its servers for the domain in June and rolled out this site yesterday.
It’s a natural great brand domain of a saying (or catch phrase) that people use all the time.
Lots of vanity addresses have been taken already including many I checked including domain, domains. media, worldwide, blog.
