Passerelle in Boulogne-Billancourt: A Wonderful Meal on the River; All We Needed Was Monet.

By Johntalbott

7.3 La Passerelle, 52, quai du Point du Jour in Boulogne-Billancourt, 01.46.20.49.44, (Metro: Marcel Sembat, then Bus 126, then quite a hike), open 7/7, has been mentioned on everyone's list of top terraces this summer and when my ex-co-host at a food site that cannot be mentioned, suggested it as near where she now lived, it seemed perfect.  Under the gangplank is an ancient food truck the likes of which used to go from country market to market; the view of the Seine upriver catched the balloon in the Citroen Park and right on schedule the good ship Baltimore steamed by.

The carte is a bit cofusing since the firsts are enough for 2 and the mains are enough for 4, but we managed, I'll explain how later.

Four of us ordered 5 firsts; some melon with Serano ham and a Cyrano-nosed baguette, two orders of heirloom tomatoes and burrata, a "larme" of Wagyu beef with chimichurri coating and a tartare of daurade with radishes and cilanto and line (much like ceviche).  There was not a loser in sight and the beef was perfectly BBQ'd and daurade perfectly spiced.

Two of us started off desiring the leg of lamb, then I joined in and my friend was convinced to participate as well, so here's 4 of us and it was enough for 8: my friends from the neighborhood gladly schlepped it and all the left-over frites home - we did manage to finish the grilled veggies and salads though.

With fine bread, a bottle of rose, a bottle of sparkling water and three coffees but no dessert, our bill was 179.00, thus 44.50 E a couple.

Go back?  As soon as another nice day beckons, I'll do my best to drag Colette.
