A unnamed passenger was removed from a plane at La Guardia Airport on Tuesday after causing a ruckus, because airline workers said, “Merry Christmas.”
The man was waiting to board American Airlines Flight 1140 to Dallas when a gate agent wished him, “Merry Christmas.” The man snapped at the woman, “You shouldn’t say that because not everyone celebrates Christmas.”
Once on the plane, a stewardess also wished him a “Merry Christmas.” At that point, the man lost it. “Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’ ” he screamed at the attendants and pilot.
The crew tried to calm the man, but he continued yelling and causing a ruckus.
He was escorted off the plane as other fliers burst into cheers and applause.
